Taken from the album "Mirror", released 23 September 2008, 'Nostalgia' is a fantastic ballad by Mirror, the multimedia project created by Canadian singer-songwriter Thomas Anselmi. Featuring Dave Gahan on vocals, this is a beautiful and underrated song combining great lyrics, Dave's fine vocals and exquisite instrumentation.

Taken from his third studio album 'Neon Oblivion', released exactly 6 years ago (24 February 2017), 'Powered By Death' is a brilliant synthpop tune by Peter Siemandel, aka Zynic. A sublime chorus and cynical lyrics about how fame and success is idolized and elevated for people after death comes knocking. Happy 6th Anniversary to a great album that makes dark music danceable and fun :)

Condition One - Rainbow (Extended)

 

Taken from the album 'Spotlight (Extended)', released exactly 2 years ago (21 February 2021), 'Rainbow (Extended)' is a fantastic track by Condition One, the German synthpop band formed by Nico Wieditz, Matthias Tippach & Daniel Wieditz in the Mid-Nineties. Happy 2nd Anniversary and I hope we'll hear more great songs from the band soon :)

VNV Nation - Before The Rain (Extended Version)

 

After a long wait, the new VNV Nation single is finally out and it's a masterpiece. 'Before The Rain', taken from the upcoming album 'Electric Sun' to be released 14 April 2023, may not be a club banger like 'When is the future' but it's a brilliant electronic track with a haunting melody and great lyrics as usual with Ronan Harris. The song is so good that I've decided to extend it a little bit, so I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do :)

You probably know the song already, '500 Miles' has been covered by multiple artists such as Bobby Bare, The Hooters, Elvis Presley, Sonny & Cher, Joan Baez or Justin Timberlake, just to name a few. Taken from the album 'Shadow Mission HELD V', released 23 January 2009, 'Odyssey Europa' is a great track by Kirlian Camera, the Italian electronic act formed by Angelo Bergamini in 1979. The version here is my own extended edit - it's basically a combination between the original english version and the extended italian version, I hope you'll enjoy it :)

VNV Nation - Sentinel

 

Taken from their seventh studio album 'Of Faith, Power And Glory', released 19 June 2009, 'Sentinel' is a catchy song by VNV Nation, the electronic project lead by Ronan Harris since 1995. An obvious EBM club-ish track with a powerful synth-line and anthemic thanks to some fantastical vocals.

Taken from the eponymous EP, released 28 May 2021, 'Killer' is a great dance track by Digital Energy, the German synthpop duo founded in 2000 by David Erdmann and Bernd Kupke. The version here is the excellent remix by Endanger, but make sure to check out the other remixes from the EP, they're all very good :)

Taken from their second album 'Lovers, Sinners & Liars', released 28 June 2019, 'Still Beating' is a great track by Mondträume, the Spanish synthpop/futurepop act created by Pikotto VondMond (Jose Ignacio Castaño Marquinez) and Damasius Venys. A beautiful song bringing a positive message to all people fighting disease: "You'll never be alone."

Hidden Souls - We Are All Escapists (People Theatre's Past Mix)

 

Taken from their second album 'All That We Destroy', released 4 November 2022, 'We Are All Escapists' is a great track by Hidden Souls, the Argentinian dark synthpop/futurepop band founded in Buenos Aires in 2005 by Leo Carden, Guillermo Pardo Neira & Alejandro Visoná. The version here is the brilliant remix by People Theatre, taken from the eponymous EP, released 27 January 2023.

The version here is the exellent 'Saint Paul Remix' taken from the 'Calling (EP)', released 16 December 2022.
