Our 'Electric Sun' special goes on today with 'Invictus' (the latin word for unconquerable or undefeated). 'Invictus' is a powerful poem by William Ernest Henley about showing courage in face of death. It is also about a strong will to survive with dignity and face many hardships. A great theme and another great song from this fantastic new VNV Nation album.
Released today, April 28th, 'Heterochromia' is the brand new single from dAVOS, the Austrian synthpop trio formed by
The wait is finally over. 5 years after 'Noire', the new VNV Nation album 'Electric Sun' is finally available and it's a masterpiece. Some people will probably complain that there are too many 'slow' tracks, but as far as I'm concerned it's not a problem for me and there are still a few club bangers like 'Prophet' for the dancefloor addicts. Enjoy this great track, but make sure to check out the other songs from this excellent album :)
Taken from their excellent album "Siren's Call", released a few weeks ago (7 April 2023), 'Gravity' is the second single by Final Selection, the German synthpop band founded in 1993 by Riccardo Schult-Nowotny & Mario Tews. The single will be available tomorrow (28 April), but you can already check out the video TODAY at 6PM, so don't be shy and join us for the premiere :)
Taken from their excellent album 'Darkness Falls Again', released last month, 'Burning Gasoline' is a brilliant track by Beborn Beton, the German synthpop group founded in 1989 in Essen by Michael B. Wagner, Stefan Netschio & Stefan Tillmann. If you like the song, make sure to check out the eponym EP, released today (April 26th) and featuring this version, 3 remixes by Olaf Wollschläger, CRYO and NNHMN and the remix of 'Dancing In The Dark' by Piston Damp.
'I Can Do Anything' is a very cool track by Sedona Port, a new synthpop project started in the spring of 2021 by Patrik Pistol from Stockholm, Sweden, and featuring Jamie Wiltshire from Cambridge, UK, on vocals. The version here is the extended mix taken from the 'Electropop 24' compilation, released 31 March 2023.
Taken from their first studio album 'Broken Grid', released 1st February 2008, 'Hiding Memories From The Sun' is a great track by Solar Fake, the German electro act founded by Sven Friedrich (Dreadful Shadows, Zeraphine) in 2007. A very light and melodic sound, with beats that are easy to move to, while maintaining a darkness that only Sven's voice can bring.
Taken from the album 'Automation>>Baby', released 15 March 2013, 'Taken For Granted' is an excellent track by Mesh, the Electronic band based out of Bristol. A catchy chorus, great synths, a cool little break down halfway and a spectacular end...needless to say, it's one of my favorite track from the album :)
Taken from the eponym EP, released 29 April 2011, 'Unlike' is a great track by Vision Talk, the Swedish Synthpop act formed in 2007 by Krister Pettersson & Richard Flow. The version here is the excellent remix by Peter Rainman, aka People Theatre.
Taken from their third studio album 'Peak & Decay', released 22 July 2016, 'Visions' is a catchy track by CHROM, the German synthpop/futurepop duo formed in May 2007 by Christian Marquis and Thomas Winters. A great track from a great album, highly recommended to all electro/synthpop lovers.
Taken from VNV Nation's upcoming album 'Electric Sun', due out 28 April 2023, 'Wait' is a fantastic song about apathy and the fact that we do nothing but watch and wait while our world is collapsing. The version here is the Extended Mix taken from the eponym EP, released today 14 April 2023.
Taken from his first album 'Fire Walk With Me', released 29 April 2011, 'Almost Silence' is a sad love's-gone-wrong ballad by Peter Siemandel, aka Zynic. I already said it before but there's not a single bad song on this album, so enjoy another great track from this fantastic album who will soon celebrate its 12th Anniversary :)
Taken from 'Reformation 01', released 17 April 2009, 'Still Waters' is one of the three (the two others being Suffer and Precipice) previously unreleased tracks by VNV Nation featured on this great three discs compilation. Even if according to Ronan Harris, these 3 songs reflect a direction he wanted to steer VNV away from, and they formed the basis for "an album that never was", they're quite excellent in my opinion, Still Waters being my fav' of the three :)
Taken from their 5th album 'Der Stille Tod' ( ='The Silent Death'), released 3 March 2023, 'We Are Stars' is a catchy track by INTENT:OUTTAKE, the German dark electro duo formed by Andreas Engleitner and Bastian Polak. A great track from a great album from the 2 musicians from Leipzig :)
Taken from their first album 'Nephesh', released 8 September 2003, 'Extinction Means Forever' is a catchy track by Pride And Fall, the Norwegian electronic trio formed by Sigve Monsen (vocals), Per Waagen (keyboards, programming) and Svein-Joar Johnsen (guitar). A great track from a great album, loaded with catchy refrains and excellent vocals sure to please all futurepop fans.
Taken from the album 'Deliberately Fragile', released 19 January 2007, 'Breathe' is a great synthpop tune by Technoir, the main project of the former Plastic Noise Experience live keyboardist, Steffan Gehring, and featuring Julia Beyer on vocals between 2000 and 2009. The version here is the 'Deliberation Mix', taken from the Manifesto (EP), released 25 August 2006.
