Taken from the album 'Northern Light', released in September 2002, 'Call The Ships To Port' is one of my favorite track from Covenant, the Swedish electronic band formed in Helsingborg in 1988 by Eskil Simonsson and Joakim Montelius. This is the Club Version taken from the eponym CDM, released 12 August 2002.
Taken from their second album 'Elements Of Silence', released 20 January 2006, 'The Violence In Me' is a catchy track by Pride And Fall, the Norwegian electronic trio formed by Sigve Monsen, Per Waagen and Svein-Joar Johnsen. A great track and a great album that will surely appeal to all futurepop fans :)
Taken from the album "Ten Years Later", released 4 December 2020, 'Falling Snow' is a great track by Antilav, the Gothic Electro project formed by Ivan Derbenev in 2010. This is the single version taken from the eponym EP released 23 January 2021 and featuring Jessica Bellhouse on vocals.
'Drums And Bass' is the second single by DSTRTD SGNL (=Distorted Signal), a new techno project formed in mid 2022 by Stephan Kessler & Torben Schmidt, two German musician/producers based in the Frankfurt area. If you like this track, they will also release a new EP with Tom Wax next month :)

When I started this project, I thought I would do 3 or maybe 4 videos for 'Electric Sun'. And now, 9 days after the album release, I still can't believe that I'm posting the 12th and last video from this VNV Nation 'movie'. Let's be honest, in my opinion 'In The Temple' is clearly the least interesting track from the album, it's just an interlude between 2 excellent songs - Artifice and Prophet. But even with 2 'weak' tracks (the 2 instrumental songs), Electric Sun is by far my favorite album of the year so far, so thanks a million Ronan for this masterpiece :)
With its hypnotic rhythm, highlighted by subtle drum rolls and Ronan's warm voice, 'Sunflare' is another of my favorite tracks from 'Electric Sun'. This song has everything I like in VNV Nation and would have been perfect to end the album. But like I said before, the instrumental track following this song can be seen as an extension of Sunflare, so it's all good :)
'Artifice' is a classic VNV Nation track in several aspects. Unlike other tracks from 'Electric Sun' who don't have the typical band signature, this one will probably appeal to everybody, because it's a very good combination between the old tracks and the new ones. If you like punchy beats, this one's for you :)
I must admit that I've been very surprised the first time I heard 'The Game'. Not because it's a bad track - it's the opposite - but because it sounded more like Depeche Mode than VNV Nation. Is that a good or a bad thing? Well, I can't answer that question but all I can say is that after hearing it several times, this track became one of my favorite song from the 'Electric Sun' album :)
Instrumental tracks are part of the VNV Nation signature. Whether you like them or not, they've always been present in the group's history. Of course, some of them are better than others and you can always debate if they are just fillers or real standalone tracks. 'Under Sky' is clearly not the best track of 'Electric Sun', but this classic melancholic piece is a very good conclusion to what I consider as the best VNV Nation album ever made.
After the opening title yesterday, 'At Horizon's End' is another ballad from 'Electric Sun'. If you're only interested in dancefloor tracks, the song likely won't appeal to you. As far as I'm concerned, the mix between dancefloor hits and atmospheric ballads is one of the reason I like VNV Nation so much, so needless to say I like it a lot :)
Taken from their upcoming album "Pandora's Hope", "I'll Keep Your Memory Alive (Song For Shiela)" is a beautiful ballad by District 13, the German synthpop duo formed by Alexander Erbacher & Per-Anders Kurenbach. A great song dedicated to all those wonderful creatures who love without counting and leave a huge empty space when they're gone.
No, there isn't an Electric Sun movie (at least not yet), but I thought that was a good title :) We've received so many feedback and positive comments about our recent VNV Nation videos that we've decided to go on and do a video for each remaining song. Today's song is the opening title from the album. 'Electric Sun' is an epic ballad that begins very calmly and builds up gradually. Not the best track from the album in my opinion, but a very good track anyway.
